The moving of a solid material through a medium like a liquid produces the same result as the solid substance is being moved through the medium by itself. If a particle of solid material goes through a medium such as a liquid, it will appear like it is being pulled through the medium. However, if it were allowed to rest there for a while the particle would become part of the medium.The process of suspending solid particles in a fluid is called solubility. Solubility can only be done at very low temperatures. A solid particle suspended in a liquid would not be soluable unless it was at or below its melting point. Once the solid particle w as at or below its melting point it would no longer be a solid. It would become a gas, or a mixture of liquid and gas.Suspension is described as a concentration of a liquid. A concentration of any kind is the ratio of the volume of the liquid to the volume of the liquid. Any liquid can be analyzed as a density. If a liquid was to be denser than another liquid then it would be more concentrated. For example, water is the densest liquid, because it contains three times the amount of mass as other liquids.Suspensions can also be measured in terms of the force required to move the particle. There are three types of forces which a particle needs to overcome in order to move in a certain direction. These forces are gravity, electromagnetism, and electrostatic force. A liquid which has an excess of one of these forces would have less volume than the liquid would. For example, when a solid particle is heavier than air, the fluid has less volume.As the liquid passes through the solid particl e, its molecules are broken down into smaller molecules of more polar charge, which make up the bonds between the molecules. The movement of the molecules changes the liquid to a gas, or a mixture of gas and liquid. It is possible to produce such a liquid. The chemical bonds in the particles are broken down and replaced with weaker ones.Suspension Chemistry can be applied to all solids, liquids, and gasses. Water, which is most commonly used as a solids medium, can be analyzed as the percentage of its weight as liquid. Water could also be broken down into its component parts such as its liquid, gas, and solid phases.In the scientific world there are many ways to measure solids, liquids, and gasses. The values are based on science, but there are other methods that people use to compare the strength of a solid or a liquid. Some solids and liquids have properties that are stronger than others.
